Hours and Book Borrowing Policies

Hours

The media center is open to all students during the normal hours of the school day. Parents and guardians are welcomed to accompany their students after school Tuesdays through Fridays from 2:05-2:30 PM.

Book Borrowing

Emanuele Elementary students can borrow materials up to their designated loan limit, regardless of the number of late or overdue items. Loan limit:

  • K-1st grade: 1 item

  • 2nd-3rd grade: up to 2 items

  • 4th-5th grade: up to 4 items

Notifications

Borrowed items and materials are expected to be returned by the due date so that they can be borrowed by other patrons. A due-date reminder notice may be sent 21 days after the due date. After 28 days, the item will be considered lost, and the patron will be billed for the replacement cost. Patrons experiencing difficulty in returning materials should contact the librarian.

Overdue and Late Materials

This media center does not  assess or collect fees for overdue or late materials. Providing equitable and open access to information and services are core values of the library. Fines and fees provide barriers that contrast our core values.

Lost and Damaged Materials

  • Patrons who have lost borrowed materials may be charged a replacement fee.

  • Patrons who have damaged materials beyond repair may be charged a replacement fee.

  • Replacement fees may include the cost of the item, sales tax, and shipping and handling.

  • Patrons may also replace the item for the library at their own expense.

Payments

Patrons paying their fees by check or cash may do so in person at the library.
